MAT Mischanlagentechnik GmbH of Immenstadt-Seifen has received the order for two large-scale separating plants from BAUER Maschinen GmbH in Schrobenhausen for a major project in Brazil.

These installations are 6m long, 8m wide and 8.3m high, with a weight of approximately 35 tonnes, an installed drive output of approximately 230kW and a throughput rate of 850m³/h on each plant making them the largest plants which have ever been built by MAT for the field of separation technology in the company's

20-year history.
The plants have been designed using a container construction system for easy transportation and can therefore be assembled and operational on site in virtually no time.

The plants are used to separate pumpable silt into water and solid phases, with the cut point for solids standing at a particle size of 60µm (0.06mm).

The plants will be transported over the next few days, to be used shortly for a major project at the Lake Pampulha in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

At the site, a special dredging method will be used, employing special pumps to remove silt and sand from the bottom of the lake and convey the material to the MAT desanding plants for separation.

The objective is to remove and recycle impurities, such as silt,

sand and waste, which have accumulated in the lake over several decades. These measures are intended to restore a minimum lake depth of approximately 1.5m in silted areas so that the lake can be used for sporting competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
